A COLLECTION OF ANTIQUE CUPS AND SAUCERS

Elegant Antique China-Cup and Saucer

This elegant and delicate cup and saucer is another part of a collection of unique pieces we collected in the 100 year old home.

Antique Cup and Saucer

Catching the colors of the inside of this cup has been a challenge. It is very beautiful and trying to capture the pearl finish has proved challenging. This antique cup has a saucer with the same design.

China Cups and Saucers

This cup is very ornate and the color changes with the light of the day. The unique painting caught my eye with the gold trimmings along the edges. It also has a pearl finish on the inside of the cup. It is hard to tell here but it has a blue-green tint on the outside. I have 3 sets of these cups but this is the only one without a saucer. It has Safton China on the bottom of the cup and says hand painted with a number on the bottom. This series of cups came out of an old house that was over 100 years old. There were many antiques that were in good condition from this house. I am want to capture the blue tint so more photos will follow.

CHRISTMAS CARDS

Have you sent your Christmas Cards yet? With the internet you can now send unique E-cards. One reason I like this is because it is less expensive even though it is more time consuming they are created with LOVE. It is very therapeutic for me to create a picture that is unique to each person I love. My family and friends told me that they put my card in a frame and hung it on the wall. Knowing my cards were not thrown in the trash or put in a box that is full of cards that you don't or won't throw out never to be seen again unless you happen to look through that box warmed my heart and brought me back to earth.

My family and friends have mentioned that they really miss my homemade cards. I am currently a starving artist and apart of the unemployed statistics. It's sad but due to searching for work and feeling overwhelmed I have realized I have no time to send a homemade card or the money for stamps to even mail cards this year. I never realized how much a simple homemade card brought a special gift of caring and love to everyone I love. This brought tears to my eye because I have realized that I take no time to do the things that bring joy to myself and others.

I am caught up in the rat race that this recession has brought and I need to get back to the basics. Life is not measured by what your net worth is but by how much you give from your heart to others. I am beginning to make my New Years resolution and that is to stop worrying about things that are beyond my control and remember those that love me. Instead of worrying I will use that time to draw pictures on cards for the people I care for.

I need to get out of self and realize that there are many people that are in the same situation if not worse. I walked pass a Salvation Army bell ringer and even though it was just a little change I had left over from a dollar. It was enough to make me feel that I was trying to help another person and doing the right thing. I realized that money problems will always be there but family and friends won't. Take the time to let them know you care even if it is with a E-card. It will not be forgotten. Here is my e-card to you. Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight.

WHERES THE TURKEY??????

All the time it takes to prepare this wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and within 20 minutes everyone is on the couch and holding their stomachs due to eating enough to last until next year. About 30 minutes later out come the desserts. After slaving in the kitchen for many hours preparing this feast then within minutes Thanksgiving was over with and just a memory. Setting the table may soon be a past tradition due to the changing times. Next year Black Friday will be Black Thursday. It started this year and the retail market is not waiting for the turkey to even get done before the stores opened for great savings. Next year it will be paper plates unless you shop on-line while the turkey is baking. Now you can have your turkey and eat it too.

ENCOURAGE THE GROWING ARTIST

I am in the process of adding new material to my site including writing, illustrations and photography. The works are in progress. If you have a child that loves to draw buy them some supplies to inspire them. I cherished my first art set and still have the wooden box to this day. Of course it has all new supplies in it. I am in the process of changing my blog some in hopes of capturing the attention of the people that enjoy art as well as helping teach and inspire the new young artist of today. Sit back and watch an artist grow and develop into a WELL KNOWN ARTIST. Well I better get back to work now. Pick up a pencil and start drawing. Until then never turn away from beauty but encourage it as it is far too precious of a gift to waste!

Abstract Sunrise

Take all your old magazines and and tear them in small pieces using them to create a piece of art. I created this picture of a sunset and I realize that the possibilities are limitless. Portraits, scenery, situations and emotion are just a few things you can create. This project would also be great for kids for a summer project as they do not have to worry about drawing. Give it a try and I am going to keep working with this medium because you'll never know when you create something that will make you unique and even famous.

India Ink Design

I took ink and blew it all over a page with a straw picking a small section that I felt was unique. By using a small piece of cardboard with a square cut out of the middle of it I created a frame. By moving the frame over the design I found a small area of the design that I thought would make a strong design. I did is a large ink illustration of what I saw in the frame to create this design. This project can be done in many creative ways. Other examples are to use a variety of objects like a xerox machine taking pictures of your hair, leaves or any object. Be creative the ideas ar limitless. As a wole the picture looked like nothing until you look through the small window and find a part that makes a creative and unique design. Draw it to a larger scale and then use any medium making this design your own. This is a lot of fun and makes some interesting designs. This is also a unique way to come up with a logo or a tattoo design. You never know when you will create the winning design.

Martin Luther King Unique Perspective

This drawing was done in pencil. The assignment was to create an illustration that was going to be put on a wall in a museum that would be 20' high. It was done with a scale that was in perspective and that is why the edges were cut off. The purpose was that if you saw this piece of art from a ground view you would see it as if looking at it straight on. When we placed it 20' high it looked natural. This illusion worked well and it was fun to do. It also made an interesting illustration. Try it out on anything you want to illustrate and you can see for yourself that it works.

Continuing to Starve for Feedback

Well I guess there is no one out there that has any kind of comment even if it is just to say I was here. It is kind of sad to not have anyone willing to give me feedback. I will continue to be patient and I will soon add some more artwork. I will await my first brave comment and challenge you to be the first follower. I guess I need to start following someone before I expect you to. I will continue to blog and I have not given up yet.

Just blogging my Life Away

http://k7r7.wordpress.com/
This blog contains more of my photography and art. One day I hope to figure a way to monetize on my blogs. This is a journey that I will share with you and if you can help me in any way I sure would appreciate your comment. Maybe together we can make a profit without having to spend money on marketing tools that are not guaranteed to work. I will take this risk. At this point I have only blogging for about 1 month but I will keep blogging until I can figure out what connects me to the world. There is one thing for sure and that is I will keep trying as I know it can be done without spending a fortune, at least I hope so. Please leave me a honest comment about how I am doing. BE HONEST PLEASE!

My First Illustration

This illustration was done with marker, colored pencil and watercolor on vellum. This is the very first illustration I had done. It was an assignment in my visual communication in class. I was to take an ad from a magazine and recreate the photograph in marker and colored pencil without text. I love to do illustrations of glass as they are very challenging. I will add more illustrations soon.

My First Poem...

As I sit here on a rainy day in rural Kansas town I thought I would add a poem I had written that day. Today is time to let go of my fears and start to get known. My talent was given to me by God and is not to be wasted. Today is the day. I would appreciate your honest comments about what you think about it.

I did not go to church today so
I picked up my Bible and began to pray

I pointed my finger as I opened the book
Where the page landed I took a look

The Gospel according to John is where it begins
It was about Christ who died for us to be forgiven our sins

Because I was feeling quite guilty for being just lazy
The answer was there and everything went hazy

John 8:14 "You judge according to the flesh" is what Jesus had said
"I judge no one", this was my answer as I forged ahead

I  had my answer from God  and it was heaven sent
Every word was his way of giving me a special hint

Not going to church was forgiven and not a total loss
As long as I remember that he died for me on the cross

I decided to write a poem of gratitude to my higher power
The gift of talent that he gave to me is like a blooming flower

I know with his guidance, strength and unconditional love
He gave me his pure sweet love with a message from a snow white dove

Being a human on earth there is only one way that I can give back to him
By using my God given talent and not giving in

There are signs from God everywhere and it comes many a way
Try to follow Gods will and do not forget to pray!

Poem by Kelly Frank (Never be afraid to let the world know that you love God!)

How do I get traffic to my blog?

I am really getting frustrated as I am not sure how to get traffic to my blog. I have read many articles about blogging but I have yet to figure out how to connect to others. I am just going to continue adding my writings and art work and see what happens. I am sure there are other out there that feel the same way. If someone can tell me how to connect please leave me a comment or else I will remain unknown. Oh well it is your loss and my gain. As I said before I know there are talented people that could bring a new way to bring people pleasure.

My First Blog-The Beginning of my Journey

The purpose of this site is my chance to learn something that is brand new to me. I heard the word "blog" many times but I never knew what it was all about. I decided to do some research and here I am building my first blog. Being a graphic artist, photographer and a creative writer I needed a place to share my work as it does no good to anyone just sitting in a notebook or portfolio gathering dust. I will soon be displaying my art and writings both editorial and creative to other people to learn if my aspirations to create touches others or inspires them to learn and grow along with me. I have always loved challenges and I have longed for a way to become published as a writer and an artist.

About Me

My photo
Happily married for 34 years and a grandmother of 3 beautiful grandchildren. I love family, friends, art, dogs, gardening, poker, pool, the outdoors and the simple things in life. Unemployed for 2 years I am trying to survive and keep what I have by making a living on-line. I am not trying to get rich but I do want to make a honest living as an Affiliate. I believe in God, country, and helping people which I have done all my life. All I ask is that you help increase my odds of making my American Dream come true. I will never lie to you or try to scam you just to make a sale. I make every effort to buy a product from a fellow American. I hope that you will learn something about the art of playing poker and other games of chance. Most of all I hope you have a great time learning from my posts. Never spend money you cannot afford to lose. The odds of becoming a successful on-line entrepreneur is 1 in 1,000,000,000. The gamble of writing posts is that I will not lose even if I never make a dime. I love teaching and writing so the enjoyment I get from giving information to others is a win-win situation. God Bless America!
